About
K McCarthy graduated from the University of Virginia and traveled throughout South America after graduation. A love affair with textiles and fabrics was nurtured after seeing indigenous tribes in Peru, Columbia and Ecuador. After returning to the states, the Phoenix was born in 1977.

The Phoenix celebrates its 34th birthday in August 2011 and unveils its newest addition. Always evolving, we are excitedly awaiting this new venture. Please visit our gallery of wearable art and new high end shoe salon at 3101 W. Cary Street, Richmond Virginia. Our new storefront will open in the fall of 2011.
